So, anyway....

TonyP and I usually listen to "oldies" radio stations when we're on a long car trip.

During one of our recent trips to Asheville, he asked me what the first song was that I remembered hearing, as a kid. The first that made an impression on me.

Without hesitation, I was able to answer "The Battle of New Orleans".

Yes. As a wee thing, I was able to belt out enthusiastically about fighting "the bloody British".

I'm not sure what that says about my childhood or the roots of my musical taste. I'm not sure if it really reveals anything at all.

But, it was either that one....or the jingle used in the late 50's by the fine folks at Valleydale Sausage.

Stitchin'

I don't mind doing alterations.

But anything involving redrawing the armscye is a whole different matter.

After several - very frustrating - days of alterations HELL, I decided to treat myself to a few nifty skirts. So, Monday, I pulled out a couple of lengths of fabric (including the stuff that had been originally intended for a shirt for TonyP!) and had a blast!

Net results: 3 finished skirts.

Now.....it's back to the alterations.
