....It's getting pretty close to that time of year, again - that time when I have to decide how to celebrate my Birthday.
Please, keep in mind that I adore having birthdays!
I am not one of those women who groan over the number of candles on their cake.
Far from it!
Each year, I try to come up with a way of celebrating the milestone in a meaningful way - a way that celebrates where I am in my life while also responding to something that I need in my life.
Well...it's been a rather odd year and I confess that - as I do not really know where I am or what I need - I'm having a very hard time making up my mind how I would like to celebrate.
To complicate matters, there's a good chance that I will be forced to violate my only real Birthday Rule - the "I don't work on my Birthday" Rule.
Birthdays tend to be times of reflection and self-assessment. At least around our home. They tend to be far more important than New Year's, when it comes to setting goals and limits. They are how we tend to measure our progress - personal, as well as professional.
This year, it is the professional part of my life that feels the most in need of attention.
So...maybe it is appropriate that I need to be open to working on my Birthday.
It might just be the answer that I've been looking for.
